Baihu Gu Kiln is one of the six famous kilns in China. It was first fired in the early Southern Song Dynasty, reached its highest level of craftsmanship in the Yuan Dynasty, and ceased operation in the late Ming and early Qing dynasties. It is located in the area of Baihudu Village, Wenquan Town, Linchuan District, Fuzhou City, Jiangxi Province today. It was a heavy kiln in the capital of the Southern Song Dynasty. Its craftsmanship laid the foundation for the rise of Jingdezhen, the new porcelain capital of the Yuan Dynasty.
This product is a double-eared gourd vase from Baihu Gu Kiln. The bottle body is patterned with a dragon and has a gilt handle. The unique feature of this utensil lies in the pattern on the bottom of the utensil, which cannot be possessed by other utensils. At the same time, it also demonstrates its noble status and luxury at the time. The word “gu” in Baihu Gu Kiln means “lonely person”. Obviously, they are not ordinary civilian utensils, but are made according to the requirements of royal official kilns and are suitable for serving wine similar to official kilns. It is a royal treasure of the palace and has high collection value. Suitable as home decorations and gifts, it is a classic inheritance.
